I’m not interested in football. In an important world cup
match I may take an interest, however a bunch of people kicking a ball for 90
minutes around a field is neither exciting nor interesting. So when Mr N came
home with an opportunity to see GB vs New Zealand women’s football at the millennium
stadium and he was allowed to take a +1, my hand went up in the air like a
rocket...

MR N in his full element.. singing, dancing and whooping at the top of his voice |

Mr N... A top supporter in Women's football |
We got to the stadium about 2 hours before the match, this was to allow plenty of time to get through the ques and airport like security checks. As it happens, we didn't have to wait too long, so there was a lot of sitting and waiting time.
The first half was slow, not a lot happened.. not being a full on "football hooligan" I felt out of place when the person next to me was shouting hints and tips to the women. Considering they were Olympic standard players, I thought that my input was not necessary, wish the loud mouth prat next to me felt the same!
Second half was a complete contrast. It was fast paced, motivated and even all the spectators seemed more enthusiastic. Within the first 5 minutes GB scored and the atmosphere in the stadium was amazing
GB 1 NZL 0 - what a fantastic way to start the Olympics!
